Letter 58

|c. 507 AD|ruricius limoges
From: Ruricius, bishop of Limoges
To: Same bishop
Date: ~507 AD
Context: Ruricius reports that he had already sent his own priest on the same matter before receiving the bishop's letter — a happy coincidence of pastoral concern.

Another letter from Ruricius to the same.

A day before I received Your Holiness's letter, I had already sent my own priest, as he himself can report, to your brotherhood on the very same matter you wrote about. Since our son is dear not only to me but to both of us, I took action before being asked.

Modern English rendering for readability. See the 19th-century translation or original Latin/Greek for scholarly use.
