Letter 60

HormisdasUnknown official(s)|hormisdas
From: Pope Hormisdas, Rome
To: Unknown official(s)
Date: ~519 AD
Context: A brief note commending letter carriers to an official and asking for their swift passage to the emperor.

Hormisdas to [unknown]. Since it was necessary to send documents to our lord the most clement prince, we could not pass over your amplitude in silence. And so, offering our respects, we commend those who have been dispatched on this business, asking that under your supervision they may quickly reach their destination — so that the most sacred and religious emperor may learn without delay the glory of his own achievements.
