Most illustrious Dynamius, I write to you in the confidence of a long and valued friendship, asking you to assist with a matter that requires someone of your standing and influence to resolve. You have always shown yourself willing to help when this see has asked, and I do not ask without good reason. The bearer of this letter will explain the specifics; I ask you to hear him with the same goodwill you have always shown to those we send to you.
