Letter 13030

Gregory the Great (Wisigothic)Unknown|gregory great

**From:** Gregory I, Bishop of Rome
**To:** Deusdedit, Bishop of Milan
**Date:** ~603 AD
**Context:** Refers Theodorus, a Defensor, to the bishop for assistance.

Theodorus, the bearer of this letter, brings a matter to your attention alongside Defensus. I commend them to you and ask that you give their case a fair hearing and render whatever assistance justice requires. As you know, those who serve the Church in these capacities deserve the support of their bishops, not obstruction. Attend to this matter with the diligence I know you to be capable of.
