Gregory the Great (Wisigothic)Unknown|gregory great
From: Pope Gregory I
To: Passivus, Bishop of Firmum
Date: ~603 AD
Context: Gregory orders Passivus to consecrate a monastery in honor of Saint Savinus using the usual formula

I am directing you to proceed with the consecration of the monastery in honor of the blessed martyr Savinus, using the customary formula of this see. The community has been prepared, the necessary arrangements have been made, and the faithful are waiting for the ceremony that will formally establish their new house of prayer. Carry out the consecration with the full solemnity it deserves, and let me know when it has been completed.
