Letter 12015

Gregory the Great (Wisigothic)Unknown|gregory great
From: Gregory the Great, Pope, in Rome
To: Romanus, defender [in Sicily]
Date: ~602 AD
Context: Gregory asks Romanus to assist Laurentius in completing Bonifatius's financial accounts — Book 12 version.

Gregory to Romanus, defender.

I am following up on my previous letter about the accounts of Bonifatius. Laurentius needs assistance completing them, and I have not heard that this assistance has been provided.

Please help him finish this work. Accurate and complete accounts matter — both for the integrity of our administration and for the protection of everyone whose resources are being accounted for.
